More running... My mom and I ran the Haggen to Haggen 5k this year. It was a nice run. Started in south Bellingham and ran right up through down town. We had great times, we ran it in about 30 minutes. I am just over 7 months pregnant in these pics. Happy to still be running a little. My mom is a great running partner. She is training for a 1/2 marathon at the end of July in Bellingham.
Mother's Day Tea at Preschool - Payton's preschool put on a mother's day tea. The kids sang Skidamarink and You are my sunshine. It was so very cute. Payton was not shy at all. She was up in front of the room hamming it up for everyone watching. She also drew a very accurate and awesome picture of me. I am not sure why I don't have a top on...
Ryan at Work - Ryan is the EVOC (emergency vehicle operations... no idea what the C stands for) instructor for his agency. So a couple times a year he has to travel somewhere in Washington to teach the other officers how to drive their trucks or an ATV. This year he had to spend 6 days in Kennewick. He taught/judged the Skills Course. The officers basically have to run through an obstacle course. It is timed and they get penalties for each cone they hit and each time they have to correct a maneuver (back up and try again).
Great Grandma's 90th Birthday - Ryan's Grandma, Irma Mercer, turned 90 on May 20th. She looks and is AWESOME. She is a very independent and feisty lady who knows exactly what she wants. For her birthday, we all drove to Othello for a night to celebrate. Barb (Ryan's mom), rented a bouncy house for the kids to play in. PJ and Colt loved it. They bounced almost all day long. Irma lives on a farm. While we were bouncing and playing outside, a couple crop dusters were out doing their jobs. They were really close and kept buzzing the tower of the bounce house. The kids thought it was great. It was a short weekend trip but we had a lot of fun. It was so nice to see all of Ryan's cousins and his brother's family.
The Cougar - Dave Jones, Ryan's "work partner" up here, trapped a cougar (read newspaper article). She was pretty drugged up in these photos, but she still looks pretty!
A night out - my company (Net Solutions) sponsors the Ski to Sea Race every year. They put on a sponsor appreciation dinner before the race. We have attended the past couple of years. I made Ryan go with me this year as a pseudo date night. My parents watched the kids and my mom took the pics of the two of us. I am 30 weeks pregnant in this pic.
Last Gym Show - Payton's preschool is a combination Gymnastics/School. Every few months they put on a show. This was their last one and I forgot to bring the regular camera. So the pics I took are from my phone. There is a video of the performance however. She did great. She really did learn a lot at school this year. She can write all the letters in the alphabet and her name. We'll do a lot of practicing and reading over the summer to help her prepare for her next year of school at Redeemer Lutheran Preschool.
